“Respect your limitations.”
I became interested in Massage Therapy and Bodywork, when I attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I tried out for their collective dance troupe called, “The Moving Company”. After the first few months, it became quickly evident that I was going to need massages to help with my very sore muscles. Our rehearsals were long and strenuous, however, it also prompted me to change into the college of Health Education, and Fitness. After UNO, I enrolled in the Midwest College of Massage Therapy, rated 4th in the nation. I graduated valedictorian of my class with over 1600 credit hours and I am Nationally and State certified and accredited.
In 1996, I started teaching kickboxing at Champion Sport Karate, and within the next couple of years enrolled in a 4 week yoga program at the Healing Arts Center. I studied many different styles of yoga and meditation that has allowed me to create a yoga flow series that anyone can take and benefit from regardless of whether they are new to yoga or have been involved with yoga for a long time.
It is very rewarding to be able to help people in their path to health and wellbeing. I feel very fortunate to be a fitness instructor because it goes hand in hand with my message therapy practice. It helps me be more aware of fitness related injuries and know that I can help relieve their discomfort and allow them to maintain their fitness regimen.
